Taga Taisha Shrine, located in Taga, Shiga Prefecture, is revered as a deity of longevity and matchmaking, attracting many worshippers from across the country. Known as the parent deity of Ise Grand Shrine, it enshrines the deities Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto, recorded in the ancient Kojiki chronicles. The shrine features numerous cultural assets and traditions, including the Taiko Bridge and the Okushoin Garden donated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Visitors can explore the shrine grounds and the adjacent Monzen-machi (temple town), famous for its Itokiri-mochi (thread-cut mochi). The shrine is a 10-minute walk from Taga Taisha-mae Station on the Ohmi Railway. A visit is recommended to experience the serene atmosphere and historical significance.
