Mt. Kotohiki

Overview

Mt. Kotohiki, located in Kanonji City, Kagawa Prefecture, is a small mountain within Kotohiki Park, renowned for its panoramic views of the iconic Zenigata Sand Art. Visitors can ascend to the mountaintop observation point, reachable by car or a scenic walking path, to witness the impressive sand art resembling an old Japanese coin, believed to bring health and wealth. The mountain also houses the Kotohiki Hachimangu Shrine and temples, offering a blend of natural beauty and cultural landmarks. The best time to visit is during the day to fully appreciate the sand art and surrounding Seto Inland Sea views. Note that insects and bees may be prevalent near the summit during warmer months.
