Gujo Hachiman Castle, originally a fortress built in 1559, offers panoramic views of the castle town and the surrounding mountains of Okumino. Designated as a historical site, the castle's stone walls and the reconstructed castle tower are cultural treasures. Visitors can enjoy the stunning autumn foliage, especially in early to mid-November, with special nighttime illuminations. The castle is known as Japan's oldest wooden reconstructed castle. Accessible by the red route of the Mame Bus to "Jokamachi Plaza" followed by a 20-minute walk, or a 12-minute drive from Gujo Hachiman IC.
