Sasamori Observatory

Overview

Located near the highest point of the Jukai Line, en route from Kosaka Town's center to Lake Towada, the Sasamori Observatory offers panoramic views of the expansive sea of trees. On clear days, visitors can also see Mount Iwate and the Ou Mountains. The observatory is accessible via a 25-minute drive from Kosaka Interchange on the Jukai Line. Note that the observatory is closed during winter. The facility is accessible to visitors with guide dogs.
