Namekawa Great Falls, selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls, is located near Yonezawa City in Yamagata Prefecture. The falls feature an 80-meter drop and can be viewed from a distance at an observation point, accessible after a 30-minute walk from Namekawa Onsen. For a closer view, visitors can descend a steep path and hike along the stream, requiring at least an hour each way. Note that the suspension bridge from Fukushima-ya is currently closed due to disrepair, requiring an alternate route across the river. The falls are especially beautiful during the autumn foliage season, offering a stunning natural landscape.
