Overview

The Kaisen Tonya Goto Family Residence, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, is located along the former Kamogawa River in Yonago. This historic building, once the home of a prosperous shipping wholesaler during the Edo period, showcases the architecture of the time. While the interior is not open to the public, visitors can admire the impressive exterior from Kyobashi Bridge. The residence is a 15-20 minute walk from JR Yonago Station, or a short bus ride to the "Tenjinbashi" stop on the Dandandan Bus. Best viewed during the day to appreciate the details of its traditional construction.
