Ishibe-juku was the 51st of the 53 post stations along the Tokaido Road. Located in Konan City, Shiga Prefecture, it once served as a popular resting point for travelers journeying from Kyoto to Edo. While much of the original townscape has been replaced with modern buildings, historical markers and reconstructed elements like the Denrakuchaya teahouse offer glimpses into its past. Visitors can explore remnants of the former Kojima Honjin site and other historical spots. For a more immersive experience, the Ishibe-juku historical theme park within Ameyama Sports Park recreates the atmosphere of the old post town (note: check for seasonal closures).
