Overview

Mii-dera Temple (Onjo-ji), the head temple of the Tendai-jimon sect, is a historic site in Otsu, Shiga. Founded to honor Prince Oama, it's known for its connection to three emperors' bathing rituals, hence the name "Mii" (three wells). The temple features numerous national treasures, including the main hall (Kondo) and a stunning view recognized as one of the Eight Views of Omi.
