Shigisan Chogosonshi-ji Temple, also known as Shigisan-ji, is a revered temple located in Heguri, Nara Prefecture. Accessible by bus from Kintetsu Shigisan-shita Station or by car via the Nishi-Meihan or Daini-Hanna Expressway, this temple is famous for its association with Shotoku Taishi and its numerous tiger motifs, especially during the Year of the Tiger. Visitors can explore various halls, including the main hall with panoramic views of the Yamato Plain, and the Reihokan Museum, which houses the "Shigisan Engi Emaki" National Treasure scroll. The temple grounds also feature unique attractions like a tiger's mouth entrance and a pilgrimage path representing the 88 temples of Shikoku. Entry to the temple is free, with a small fee for the Reihokan Museum.
