Musashino Reiwa Shrine, officially known as "Musashino ni Masu Uruwashiki Yamato no Miyashiro," is a modern shrine located within Tokorozawa Sakura Town, just a 10-minute walk from JR Higashi-Tokorozawa Station. Designed under the supervision of architect Kengo Kuma, the shrine blends traditional Shinto elements with contemporary materials like metal and glass, creating a unique and visually striking structure. Dedicated to matchmaking and forging connections, the shrine features Amaterasu Omikami and Susanoo-no-Mikoto as its main deities, who were separated from Tokyo Grand Shrine. Visitors can explore the grounds, admire the modern architecture, and even find unique omikuji (fortunes). Note that the shrine typically closes around 5 PM, so plan your visit accordingly to fully experience the illuminated torii gates at night. Open from 10:00 to 16:30, closed on Tuesdays (or the following weekday if Tuesday is a holiday).
