The Tenryo Hita Museum, established in 1988, showcases the history and culture of Hita during the Edo period when it was under direct control of the shogunate. Located in the charming Mameda-machi district, the museum features a collection of historical documents, calligraphy, and artifacts related to the Tenryo period and the local merchant culture. Visitors can explore exhibits detailing the lives of wealthy merchants and the unique cultural heritage of Hita. Special exhibitions are held in spring and autumn. The museum is about a 15-minute walk from JR Hita Station. Note that the museum sometimes displays Hina dolls during the Hita Hina Doll Festival.
