The Yudanaka Station Old Station Building, also known as the "Kaede no Yakata," is a beautifully preserved piece of history located just across the tracks from the current Yudanaka Station. This charming, mountain-lodge-style building, originally built in 1927, once served as the gateway to Shiga Kogen. Today, it functions as a community space and exhibition hall, offering visitors a glimpse into the Showa era with its nostalgic ambiance. Adjacent to the building, you'll find the Kaede no Yu hot spring and a free foot bath, making it a perfect spot to relax and soak in the atmosphere while waiting for your train. Open to the public, it provides tourist information and a unique look into the past.
