Okayama Castle, also known as "Crow Castle" due to its striking black exterior, was originally built by Ukita Hideie under the guidance of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and completed in 1597. Though the original castle tower was lost in wartime and reconstructed in 1966, it offers a blend of historical exhibits and interactive experiences, including Bizen pottery and photo opportunities in a palanquin. Don't miss the Tsukimi Yagura (moon-viewing turret), which survived the war. Located a short streetcar ride from Okayama Station, the castle provides an engaging look into local history and culture. Open from 9:00 to 17:30 (last entry at 17:00), with a small admission fee.
