Statue of Minamoto no Yoshiie

Overview

The Statue of Minamoto no Yoshiie is located in Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture, with prominent statues both in front of Nakoso Station and within Nakoso Seki Park. Minamoto no Yoshiie, also known as Hachimantaro, was a significant figure in the late Heian period. The statue at Nakoso Seki Park, near the Nakoso Seki Barrier site, depicts Yoshiie in full armor on horseback, holding a bow. Visitors can explore the park's walking trails and the Nakoso Seki Barrier site, where Yoshiie is said to have composed a famous poem. The park offers parking and connects to the Nakoso Seki Park Experience Learning Facility.
