The Noboritachi Gate, located on the south side of Uwajima Castle, is one of the castle's original structures, dating back to the Edo period. As one of the main entrances to the castle grounds, this impressive gate features a Yakui-style design, considered one of the largest and oldest of its kind in Japan. While less frequented than the main gate, a visit to Noboritachi Gate offers a glimpse into the castle's rich history and provides a quieter, more contemplative entry point. The gate is near a statue of Kojima Iken, a local hero. The path from the gate leads to the castle keep, though the stone steps can be steep. Visit during the day to fully appreciate the architecture and surrounding scenery.
