Explore the Old Yonezawa Road, once a vital route from Wakamatsu Castle Town to Yonezawa. Located in Kitashiobara Village, Fukushima Prefecture, this historical path offers a glimpse into the past with its preserved Oiwake signpost and ancient Japanese red pines. Visitors can access the area by taking a 70-minute bus ride from Inawashiro Station. Discover remnants of the former Aizu-Yonezawa highway, including the hot spring shrine, a monument marking a fork in the road, and the site of the Ooshio-juku Kosatsuba (official notice board). While a fire in the Showa era destroyed parts of the old street, it remains a worthwhile historical site to visit.
