The Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival, held annually along the Kawazu River in Kawazu Town, Shizuoka Prefecture, celebrates the early-blooming Kawazu cherry trees, which blossom from late January for about a month. These trees, known for their large, pink flowers, line the river for approximately 4 kilometers near Kawazu Station. During the festival, the cherry trees and notable specimens are illuminated at night, creating a magical atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy strolling along the river, taking in the beautiful scenery, and experiencing the festive atmosphere. The best time to visit is during the day to fully appreciate the vibrant colors, or in the evening to see the illuminated blossoms.
