Sakitsu Church, a symbol of the Sakitsu Village in Amakusa (a World Heritage site), was built in 1934 by Father Halbout and constructed by Tetsukawa Yosuke of Nagasaki. This impressive Gothic-style church features a cross on its steeple and a unique tatami mat floor inside. Notably, the altar is located where religious suppressions occurred during the ban on Christianity.
