The Ohara Museum of Art, established in 1930, was Japan's first private museum dedicated to Western art. Founded by Magosaburo Ohara, it showcases masterpieces by El Greco, Monet, Renoir, and Gauguin. With around 3,000 works, including ancient Egyptian art and modern Japanese pieces, it's a must-visit in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. The building, designed by Sukekazu Yakushiji, features impressive concrete pillars that mimic marble. Note that photography is not allowed inside the museum.
