The Shiretoko Nature Center, reopened in April 2016, serves as a visitor center to explore and enjoy the Shiretoko Peninsula. It offers up-to-date information for hiking, trekking, and nature watching, along with outdoor gear sales and rentals. Relax in the food court with local cuisine or shop for souvenirs. The center features a large screen showing nature films and lectures with seasonal and bear information. Free Wi-Fi is available. Located a 70-minute bus ride from Shiretoko Shari Station, it's the perfect starting point for exploring the area, especially before visiting the Furepe Falls via the adjacent walking trail.
