Overview

The Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Contemporary Art Museum, also known as MonET, is a key venue of the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. Architect Hiroshi Hara designed the building, which features a dynamic layout with a large corridor and atrium space. Inside, you'll find works by renowned contemporary artists such as Kohei Nawa and Michiko Nakanishi. The museum also has a community space designed by MUJI. Located a 10-minute walk from Tokamachi Station, MonET offers a unique blend of art and architecture in the heart of the satoyama (mountain village).
