Rakan-ji Temple, located near the Omori bus stop in Iwami Ginzan, is famous for its collection of 500 stone statues of Buddhist disciples. Established in 1766 to honor those who died working in the Iwami Ginzan silver mine, the temple features a main hall and a stone cave across the road where the statues are housed. Visitors can pay an entry fee to see the statues, each with unique expressions and poses, and experience the "Tainaikuguri" (womb-tunnel) in the main hall, believed to bring blessings for childbirth and wisdom. The temple also has a Zenarai Benten shrine where you can wash coins for good fortune. It's a key cultural and historical site in the Iwami Ginzan area.
