Kongosan-ji Temple, also known as Yata-dera, is said to have been founded in 680 AD. The temple is easily accessible by bus from Kintetsu Koriyama Station. The main attraction is the stunning hydrangea garden, which blooms from early June to early July, earning it the nickname "Ajisai-dera" (Hydrangea Temple). The principal image, a standing Jizo Bodhisattva, is designated as an Important Cultural Property. During the hydrangea season, there is an entrance fee of ¥400 for adults and ¥200 for children. The temple offers a tranquil atmosphere with beautiful views of the surrounding area.
