Explore the Magose Pass, a beautifully preserved section of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, a designated World Heritage site. Located on the border of Kihoku Town and Owase City in Mie Prefecture, this popular trail features a roughly 2-kilometer stretch of stone-paved path winding through a stunning Owase cypress forest. The 6.5km trail is easily accessible from JR Aiga Station (5-minute bus ride to Washi-no-ke bus stop) or a 5-minute drive from the Kisei Expressway's Kiyama IC. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear, as the stone path can be slippery, especially after rain. The best time to visit is on a clear day to fully appreciate the natural beauty and avoid potentially hazardous conditions.
