The Kaminoseki Bridge spans the 170-meter strait between Murotsu and Kaminoseki, a historically significant sea passage that sees approximately a thousand ships daily. Completed in June 1969, this bridge connects the Murotsu Peninsula and Nagashima Island. Visitors can enjoy scenic views and explore nearby historical sites such as old battery ruins, the remains of the Mori navy headquarters, and the Shiroyama Castle ruins. The bridge is accessible via a 50-minute bus ride from JR Yanai Station to the 'Kaminoseki Ohashi' bus stop, followed by a short walk. It's a great spot to appreciate the Seto Inland Sea and local history.
