The Tanetoku Art Museum in Koori, Fukushima, displays a collection of over 400 calligraphy and paintings donated by the local notable figure, the late Mr. Rinbei Kakuda. The museum is located on the grounds of the former Date County Office. While the full collection is available online, the museum exhibits a selection of works, including Edo-period artisan paintings and archaeological artifacts excavated locally. A visit takes about 30 minutes. Admission is ¥200 for adults, ¥100 for high school students, and ¥50 for junior high and elementary school students. Don't miss the adjacent former Date County Office, a pseudo-Western-style building from the Meiji era.
