Karabitsu Kofun

Overview

Explore the Karabitsu Kofun, a large keyhole-shaped tomb located in Shobara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. This well-maintained historical site features an impressive stone chamber with a notably long passage. While easily accessible, the site's pristine condition may give it a slightly overly-manicured feel for some. To get there, take the Bihoku Bus from Shobara Bus Center and get off at Myoga, though service is infrequent, making a taxi or car more convenient. If driving, park at the Myoga Community Center and walk a short distance up a mountain path. The tomb is open for exploration, and the surrounding mountain scenery with the Geibi Line is beautiful.
