Located in front of Echizen Railway Eiheiji-guchi Station, the Former Kyoto Electric Light Furuichi Substation is a historic red brick building constructed in 1914. It once supplied electricity to the Kyoto Electric Light Echizen Electric Railway network. Designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, visitors can admire its well-preserved exterior while waiting for the bus to Eiheiji Temple. The building features unique architectural details, including arched windows and openings for electrical wires. Although interior access is not permitted, the substation's illuminated facade offers a glimpse into the region's industrial past and is easily accessible for a quick visit.
