Muro-ji Temple, nestled deep in the mountains of Nara Prefecture, is historically known as "Nyonin Koya" (Women's Koya) because it welcomed female pilgrims, unlike the traditionally forbidden Mount Koya. The temple features numerous National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties, including Japan's smallest outdoor five-story pagoda. Visitors can enjoy the temple's beauty throughout the year, with cherry blossoms, rhododendrons, autumn foliage, and snowscapes offering distinct seasonal views. Located a bus ride from Muroguchi-Ono Station, the temple offers paid parking. Entry is ¥600 for adults (¥400 extra for the Treasure Hall) and ¥400 for children (Treasure Hall free for elementary school children and younger).
