The Lake Biwa Ohashi Bridge, opened in 1974 and expanded in 1995, serves as a bypass on National Route 1, connecting Otsu and the Kohoku/Koto regions. This 1,290-meter bridge offers scenic views of Lake Biwa and the surrounding landscape. Easily accessible from Keihan Zezehommachi Station (10-minute walk), it's a convenient route for exploring the eastern side of Lake Biwa without the tolls of the Biwako Ohashi Bridge. Ideal for a quick drive or a leisurely stroll to enjoy the lakeside scenery, especially during pleasant weather. Note that it can get crowded on weekends due to its use as a local road.
