Discover the historical site of Buddhist sculptor Noko, located in Kudoyama Town. Noko, born in Mimasaka Province (Okayama Prefecture), resided in Kudoyama and became renowned for sculpting the Tamonten and Jikokuten statues at Koyasan's Chumon gate in 1141. The site features a stone monument dedicated to Noko, affectionately known as "Nokon-san" by locals. It is believed to have healing powers, especially for ailments affecting the head, and attracts worshippers from across the country. An annual memorial service is held on the first Sunday of April, featuring a grand Mochi throwing ceremony. The site is located between Roadside Station Kudoyama and Jison-in Temple.
