Susanoo Shrine, affectionately known as "Gion-sama" by locals, is located in the historic town of Yoshii in Ukiha City. Established in 1763, the shrine safeguards the town, especially from the kimon (northeast) direction, after a major fire led to the relocation of local deities to this site. The vibrant red Roumon gate creates a solemn atmosphere, enveloping the grounds in a sacred ambiance. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful moment of reflection and admire the wisteria trellis within the shrine's grounds. The shrine is also the focal point of the Yoshii Gion festival in July, featuring traditional Yamakasa floats and lively Gion music.
