Numata Park, the former site of Numata Castle once ruled by the Sanada clan, is a popular destination known for its stunning cherry blossoms. The park features Somei Yoshino cherry trees surrounding the entire area, as well as the iconic Goten cherry tree, said to be over 400 years old. Visitors can explore historic stone walls from the Sanada era and the restored bell tower, built to protect a historic bell. Enjoy panoramic views of the Tanigawa mountain range and other majestic peaks. A tourist information center and souvenir shop are located within the park. It's easily accessible, being a 15-minute walk from JR Numata Station or a 10-minute drive from the Numata Interchange on the Kanetsu Expressway. Spring is the best time to visit to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
