The Katsuragawa Valley, known as Katsuragawa in Yamanashi Prefecture, is a scenic gorge along the 109km-long Sagami River, sourced from Lake Yamanaka. Famous for Ayu (sweetfish) fishing, the valley offers stunning views, especially between Otsuki and Uenohara, and features the Saruhashi Bridge, one of Japan's three unique bridges. The valley stretches for 15km and is easily accessible, being a 30-minute walk from Saruhashi Station. Visit during autumn to witness the vibrant foliage, and explore the walking trails for closer views of the gorge and Saruhashi Bridge.
