The Nicchu Line Memorial Bicycle and Pedestrian Path in Kitakata, Fukushima, is a beautifully repurposed railway track that once connected Kitakata Station and Atsushio Station. Today, it serves as a scenic walkway and cycling path, most famous for its stunning display of weeping cherry trees (shidarezakura). Approximately 1,000 trees line the 3-kilometer path, creating a breathtaking tunnel of pink blossoms in mid-April. The path also features a preserved SL locomotive, adding historical charm. Outside of cherry blossom season, it's a pleasant walking path, but the spring bloom is the main attraction. Free parking is available, though it can get crowded during peak season.
