Fukuroda Falls, one of Japan's three most famous waterfalls, is a designated Place of Scenic Beauty. Cascading down 120 meters in four tiers, it's also known as Yodo-no-taki (Four Times Falls). Legend says the monk Saigyo praised the falls, stating its true beauty can only be appreciated by visiting once each season. The falls offer stunning views year-round, with lush greenery in spring, echoing waters in summer, vibrant foliage in autumn, and serene ice formations in winter. Visitors can enjoy viewing platforms, including one accessed via a tunnel and elevator, and a suspension bridge for varied perspectives. Paid parking is available closer to the falls, while free parking requires a longer walk. Open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM between May and October, with shorter hours in other months.
