The Tokko Junkoku no Hi (Monument) in Kawatana, Nagasaki, commemorates the thousands of young men who trained here as part of special attack units during World War II. From 1944, this site served as a training ground for suicide torpedo boats and other special weapons. Over 3,500 individuals lost their lives. The monument bears the names of all those who died. Located a 15-minute walk from JR Ogushigo Station, the site offers a somber reflection on the sacrifices made during the war. Admission is free.
