Tenrin-in Temple, located a short walk from Matsushima-Kaigan Station, is the final resting place of Irohahime, the daughter of Date Masamune. It is considered one of the three spiritual mausoleums of Matsushima, along with Entsuin and Yotokuin. Visitors can explore Irohahime's mausoleum and a cave area with memorial towers for the Date clan. A notable feature is a 6-meter tall statue of Jizo Bosatsu carved from Italian marble. The temple offers a peaceful and less crowded alternative to nearby popular sites like Zuiganji and Entsuin, and admission is free. Open from 8:00 to 17:00, it's an ideal spot for a quiet visit any time of day.
