YAMABOKU Wild Snow Park, located on the southern slopes of Mt. Kasadake in Shiga Kogen, is a haven for powder and backcountry enthusiasts, with approximately 70% of its slopes being ungroomed. Known for its high-quality powder snow due to its elevation, the park also offers rentals of high-buoyancy boards for powder beginners. The Takochi Powder Area may be open depending on snow conditions, so it's best to check the official website before visiting. Backcountry tours led by professional guides are also available. Located in Shinshu Takayama, it's accessible from the Suzaka Nagano Higashi IC via Routes 406 and 112. Note that the parking lot is not very large.
