Chinkokuji Temple

Overview

Chinkokuji Temple, also known as Chinkokuji Temple, is located in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Founded by the revered monk Kobo Daishi (Kukai), this temple is known as a place to pray for national peace. The temple grounds are beautifully landscaped and offer seasonal floral displays, including plum blossoms in early February, cherry blossoms in spring, azaleas, and autumn foliage. The temple is also famous for its Boke-Fuji Kannon, a deity that protects against dementia.
