Akiu Great Falls is a stunning natural attraction located a short distance from Akiu Onsen in Sendai. This majestic waterfall, with a 6-meter width and a 55-meter drop, is celebrated as one of Japan's three most famous waterfalls. Visitors can enjoy a refreshing walk along the riverside path to witness the falls up close, especially beautiful during early summer and autumn. Be aware that the path to the base of the falls can be steep and challenging. Parking is available, but the lower lot near the waterfall base is limited. Consider visiting the Akiu Otaki Fudoson temple nearby for a complete experience.
