Cape Gorota is a stunning cliffside cape on the western side of Rebun Island, offering panoramic 360-degree views. At 176 meters above sea level, it provides vistas of Todo Island, Lake Kushu, Mount Rebun, and even Mount Rishiri on a clear day. Reaching the cape involves a scenic walk, with some uphill climbs, but the rewarding views of alpine flowers and breathtaking landscapes make it worthwhile. Be prepared for strong winds, especially near the cliff edges. The best time to visit is during the flowering season in July, but be mindful of slippery paths after rain. Parking is available near the Edo-ya bus stop, followed by a 30-minute walk to the cape.
