Otsu Manju is a traditional Japanese confectionery shop located in Niigata Prefecture, specifically in the town of Tainai. Established in the first year of the Bunka era, this shop is famous for its signature Kinto Manju, a steamed bun with a slightly sour aroma. Many visitors stop by after visiting Otakara Temple, as the shop is located on the temple's approach. Besides the manju, the shop also offers local Niigata sake and, more recently, deep-fried rice flour manju. You can enjoy your fresh manju inside the shop or outside on provided chairs. Note that the manju hardens in a day or two, so it's best enjoyed fresh or reheated.
