Atera no Nanataki Falls, also known as the Seven Waterfalls of Atera, is a stunning natural attraction located in Shinshiro, Aichi Prefecture. Designated as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls and a national Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Monument, these cascading falls offer a picturesque escape into nature. The falls are characterized by a terraced formation over a conglomerate riverbed, dropping a total of 64 meters. Visitors can enjoy the vibrant greenery in spring, colorful foliage in autumn, and the delicate blooms of Iwatabako flowers in summer. The area is easily accessible via a 15-minute walk from the Nanataki-guchi bus stop or a 30-minute drive from Shinshiro IC or Horai-kyo IC. A small parking fee of ¥300 is required. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for the walk to fully appreciate this serene and beautiful spot.
