It's renowned for the "Gamo no Okusu," one of Japan's largest camphor trees, estimated to be 1600 years old. Visitors can explore the shrine's peaceful grounds and experience the powerful presence of the ancient tree. The shrine is accessible by car, approximately 20 minutes from Kagoshima Airport. A small treasure hall is available for viewing inside the shrine office. The best time to visit is during the autumn when the ginkgo leaves create a stunning yellow carpet.
