Esu Hachimangu Shrine, located in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is a historic site dedicated to Emperor Ojin, Empress Saimei, and Emperor Tenji. According to legend, it was founded when Emperor Tenji sent a messenger to Usa Hachimangu Shrine for national peace and victory, and a white flag with the characters of Hachiman appeared at the foot of Mount Esu. The shrine is also believed to be near the burial mound of Empress Saimei. Visitors can explore the main hall, admire the large camphor tree, and learn about the area's rich history. A parking area is available near the shrine entrance. The best time to visit is during the spring and autumn festivals.
