Milky Way Falls (Ginga no Taki) is located in Sounkyo Gorge, Hokkaido. This elegant waterfall, often called the "female waterfall," cascades down a 120-meter cliff face in a delicate, thread-like stream. It's best viewed alongside its neighboring Ryusei Falls (Meteor Falls), known as the "male waterfall," forming a picturesque "couple waterfall" duo. Visitors can enjoy scenic views from the parking area or hike to the observation deck for a more panoramic perspective. The falls are particularly stunning in spring with abundant water flow, though winter offers a unique frozen spectacle. The adjacent Takimintara facility provides restrooms and local melon during open seasons.
