Kuwana Station was the 42nd station on the Tokaido Road, historically significant as the gateway to Ise Province and the only sea route on the Tokaido, via the Shichiri-no-Watashi ferry. Though modern development has altered much of the original townscape, remnants of its history can still be found near the Shichiri-no-Watashi site and Kuwana Castle ruins. Visitors can explore reconstructed elements like the Banryu Yagura tower and historical markers, imagining the bustling post town of the Edo period. The area offers a glimpse into the past with preserved stone pavements and traditional-style buildings. It's an ideal spot for history enthusiasts tracing the Tokaido route.
