Cape Chikyu Lighthouse, selected as one of Japan's Top 50 Lighthouses, stands as an iconic symbol at Cape Chikyu in Muroran, Hokkaido. Lit since 1920, its light reaches approximately 40 kilometers. While the lighthouse itself is not generally open to the public, visitors can admire its elegant white form from the observation deck of Cape Chikyu. The best views, especially on clear days, offer a stunning contrast between the blue sea and the white lighthouse. Access is a 20-minute walk from the Chikyu Misaki Danchi bus stop from JR Muroran Station. The lighthouse is occasionally open to the public on special days like Marine Day.
