Matsue Castle, also known as Chidori Castle, was completed in 1611 by Horio Yoshiharu. This national treasure features a distinctive four-story main keep with five levels and one basement, along with six turrets. The castle grounds are now a park called Joyama Park, which includes Matsue Shrine and the wooden Western-style building, Kouunkaku.
